Biography
Monica Capella has been an attorney with Graves & Graves, P.C., since 2013. Her practice concentrates on complex consular issues and waivers of inadmissibility. Her expertise includes processing petitions for foreign investors, treaty traders, professionals under the Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico, and religious workers. She has worked on immigrant investor petitions, employer compliance matters, and employer sanction cases.
Monica represents clients frequently at their interviews with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). She is involved in removal defense and represents clients at bond hearings, master calendar hearings, motions to reopen cases, motions to terminate proceedings, and cancellation of removals.
Monica was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Interamerican University School of Law in Puerto Rico. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, with a Biology major, from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. Monica is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and speaks at conferences about immigration issues.
